Day 2

KNOW

**For more resources to train yourself as a parent, challenge your older children (upper elementary through teens), or to simply go deeper, check out the Bonus>Extra Resources Tab in the app**.
  • Begin your family devo time with a prayer asking God to focus everyone’s attention on Him together.  Feel free to have one of your kids pray!
  • Say this week’s Gospel statement out loud together (in the picture above!)…feel free to have your family say it along with you, or repeat short phrases. Our goal is to memorize this phrase by the end of the week!
  • BIBLE TIME: Read 1 Timothy 2:1-6 out loud together.
    • Challenge your children who are old enough to read to follow along in their own physical Bibles.

GROW

  • Family Discussion: What does 1 Timothy 2:1-6 teach us? Share out loud together*.
    • *Take time to emphasize just a few of these points if you have a distracted audience!*
    • All kinds of prayers (supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings) be made for all people: from the kings to the regular folk!
    • We pray this way so that we can lead peaceful, quiet lives, godly and dignified (holy!) in every way.
    • It pleases God our Savior to do this because He desires ALL people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
    • There is one God and one mediator (one that acts between two parties) between God and men: the (God)man Christ Jesus
    • Christ Jesus gave Himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time
  •  Family Discussion: Because God desires all people to be saved, what step of obedience is God calling you to do today?
    • Prayer for people to come to know Jesus is HUGE!

GO

  • Take turns praying as a family.  Praise God for His love for all people to be saved and come to know Him by the work of Christ Jesus!  Then pray for those you know who don’t yet know God: for our political leaders (whether you like them or not!) and people in high places all they way down to the neighbors on our street.
  • THIS WEEK‘S CHALLENGE: Have each family member share out loud about one person who needs to hear that God is holy and created us to be with Him, our sins separate us from Him, no good work takes away the stain of sin, that Jesus paid for our sins by dying and rising again, and that EVERYONE who trusts Jesus alone with their entire life (cf. Proverbs 3:5-6!) enjoys eternal life.
  • Have one family member or all re-state today’s Gospel statement: Everyone who trusts in Jesus alone has eternal life.
  • BONUS OPTION TO CLOSE: Listen & sing along with either “Crown Him with Many Crowns” by Shane & Shane or “Your Great Name” by Jeff Johnson:
